It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Beaverton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against the Coleman Comets by a score of 12-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Beavers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Reese Mishler was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Bryar Pollard also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Beaverton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They got six more hits than Coleman's also-impressive total of 11.
Beaverton's record is now 5-17. As for Coleman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-17.
Looking ahead, Beaverton is taking a road trip to take on Harrison at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Coleman, they will host Reed City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
