Softball Recap: Burley's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Burley extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 9-8 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mountain Home Tigers a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Adalynn Olmos was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Marhi Robins was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Olmos, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Burley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

As for Mountain Home, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

On Mountain Home's side, Orie Rau made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one triple.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Burley beat the Tigers by a score of 18-8 later that day.
