Basketball Game Preview: Anderson Raptors vs. Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls

The Anderson Raptors and the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Anderson is looking for their season's first win.

Last Friday, Anderson ended up a good deal behind Kings and lost 71-52.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Trace Jallick, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Sexton, who posted eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Healthy). The stars were shining brightly for them in a 71-54 victory over Walnut Hills on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Fighting Owls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while the Eagles are ranked 262nd).

Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mt. Healthy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Anderson came up short against Mt. Healthy in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, falling 67-63. Can Anderson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
