Volleyball Game Preview: Brewster Bears vs. Somers Tuskers

Brewster is 0-10 against Somers since September of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bears will welcome the Tuskers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brewster not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 21, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Haldane as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-18, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Somers came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Eagles.

Somers was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 21-25, 13-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Somers' victory bumped their record up to 10-2-1. As for Brewster, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Brewster came up short against Somers when the teams last played back in October of 2023, falling 3-1. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
