Pine Ridge lost against New Smyrna Beach back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pine Ridge Panthers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 72-71 to the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Smyrna Beach to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikey Steward, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Mclaughlin, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points.

Pine Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for New Smyrna Beach, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-6.

Pine Ridge is taking a road trip to challenge North Florida Educational Institute at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully North Florida Educational Institute likes a good challenge. As for New Smyrna Beach, they will take on DME Academy Gold in a tournament on Monday. New Smyrna Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.9 points per game this season.
