If Classical Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Coronado, they should've done a better job of containing Chase Jenkins. The Islanders took down the Caimans 28-10 on Friday for which the team can thank Jenkins, who rushed for 105 yards and two scores on only six carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Coronado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Noah Jones and Jackson Hosko.
Despite the loss, Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Hunter Schmidt, who rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Nick Mizel also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.
Coronado has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 26.5 points this season. As for Classical Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Looking ahead, Coronado will host Maranatha Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Crawford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
