Soccer Game Preview: Righetti vs. Santa Maria

Righetti is 2-8 against Santa Maria since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Saints at 6:00 p.m. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Righetti's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Pioneer Valley. Armando Mireles had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Righetti.

Meanwhile, Santa Maria had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Eagles. The game was the first time Santa Maria have beaten Arroyo Grande on their pitch since February 16, 2023.

Righetti's record is now 11-3-2. As for Santa Maria, their record now sits at 12-1-2.

Righetti beat Santa Maria 3-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
