Basketball Recap: Southeast Takes a Loss

Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost to the Manhattan Indians on the road by a 56-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Golden Buffalo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Indians are ranked 47th).

Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Alana Webb, who went 8 for 19 en route to 20 points. Kiasia Allen was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Manhattan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Southeast has already played their next matchup, a 57-49 win against Andover Central on the 31st. As for Manhattan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-38 victory against McPherson on the 31st.
