Volleyball Recap: Brookfield Central Takes a Loss

Brookfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Waunakee Warriors. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Olivia Witon paced Brookfield Central's offense, picking up five kills. Witon got some help from Emma Duff and her 11 assists. Carolyn Gauntt controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Brookfield Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Waunakee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Brookfield Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Hartford on the 26th. As for Waunakee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Wisconsin Lutheran on the 26th.
