Basketball Recap: Edwardsburg Takes a Loss

Edwardsburg fought the good fight in their overtime game against Niles on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Niles Vikings by a score of 48-45. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eddies came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Vikings are ranked 386th).

Edwardsburg dropped their record down to 11-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Niles, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 5-14.

Coming up, Edwardsburg will square off against St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niles, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mattawan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niles is facing Mattawan at the right time seeing as Mattawan is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
