Baseball Recap: Groton School Takes a Loss

If Groton School was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Buckingham Browne & Nichols on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Groton School took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buckingham Browne & Nichols on Monday. Groton School was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Buckingham Browne & Nichols earlier this season, when they won 9-1.

Kaiden Donia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Wesley DiModica, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases.

Groton School's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Buckingham Browne & Nichols, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-1.

Looking ahead, Groton School will head out to square off against Governor's Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Governors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Groton School's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Buckingham Browne & Nichols, they will welcome Noble & Greenough at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
