Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Bernard). They blew past the Salesian Mustangs 17-7 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

St. Bernard got a massive performance out of Royce McKenzie, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave McKenzie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lennex Minor, who scored two runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

St. Bernard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Bernard's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Salesian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

St. Bernard will be playing at home against New Roads at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salesian, they will venture away from home to face off against St. Monica at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
