Volleyball Recap: Brownstown/St. Elmo's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Brownstown/St. Elmo unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg found their leader in freshman Abree Zalman, who had 11 digs and one assist. Zalman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Brownstown/St. Elmo's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Brownstown/St. Elmo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Casey-Westfield on the 22nd. As for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Farina South Central on the 22nd.
