South Glens Falls has gone a perfect 4-0 against Broadalbin-Perth recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will host the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
South Glens Falls took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Queensbury as they made off with a 14-6 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Isabelle Ames made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ames was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Adrianna Mathusa and Sophia Kill did most of the damage at the plate: Mathusa scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Kill scored two runs while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave Mathusa a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Gianna Marissal, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Broadalbin-Perth owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Amsterdam. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.
Like South Glens Falls, Broadalbin-Perth also got a great game from a two-way player: Adrianna Smith. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marley Morin, who went 1-for-4 with one triple.
Broadalbin-Perth's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for South Glens Falls, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything went South Glens Falls' way against Broadalbin-Perth when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as South Glens Falls made off with a 16-4 win. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
