FREEDOM, Pa. - the Wolverine had a big 21-point third quarter on Saturday, sealing a 35-0 victory over Freedom Area (Freedom, Pa.).
Lincoln scored on a
Nick Ioanilli touchdown run, a touchdown run by
Dillon Horgan and a touchdown pass by Horgan to
Jeff Fallabel in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a
Paul Lutz touchdown run in the first quarter, LHS led 14-0 at the half.
The Ellwood City school expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. The Wolverine scored three times in the third, including once on a Ioanilli touchdown run.
The final score was a stunner, as Lincoln was ranked No. 425 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Pennsylvania, far below Freedom Area's spot at No. 318.
LHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 57-21.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Ellwood City school, which lost to New Brighton last week, 42-21.
Freedom Area (0-2) will play a WPIAL AA Midwestern game against Beaver next week, while Lincoln (1-1) will take on Beaver Falls also in a WPIAL AA Midwestern game.
