Basketball Recap: Richlands Takes a Loss

Richlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Swansboro Pirates 56-24. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-21 last Monday.

Leading Swansboro to victory were Kendall Hackworth and Addison King. Hackworth dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals, while King dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Hackworth a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Gianna Fandino, who posted 15 points.

Richlands' loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Swansboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Richlands has already played their next matchup, a 61-14 defeat against West Carteret on the 3rd. As for Swansboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-28 loss against Croatan on the 4th.
