Flag Football Recap: Hawkinsville Takes a Loss

Hawkinsville lost against Fitzgerald back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Red Devils came up short against the Purple Hurricane, falling 27-7. The loss leaves the Red Devils still looking for their first win of the season.

Rheaghan Powers threw for 47 yards on nine of 17 attempts. Gabby Yates was her top target, picking up 30 receiving yards. On the ground, Malia Hunlen rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown.

Hawkinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fitzgerald, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawkinsville will venture away from home to face off against Wheeler County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fitzgerald, they will head out to square off against Dodge County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 4.5 points per game this season, so the Purple Hurricane's offense will have their work cut out for them.
