Volleyball Recap: Natrona County's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Natrona County had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Riverton Wolverines 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Natrona County got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 24-26, 24-26, 25-18, 32-30, 15-13.

Erin Aune was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 31 assists and eight digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 12.7 assists per game. Brooke Russell also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Natrona County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since the start of last season.

Natrona County's record is now 7-19. As for Riverton, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-23.

Natrona County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Star Valley on the 1st. Riverton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
