Basketball Game Preview: Lincolnview Lancers vs. Jefferson Wildcats

The Lincolnview Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Jefferson Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincolnview is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Lincolnview is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against St. John's on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lincolnview was beaten by St. John's 74-45. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-25.

Meanwhile, Jefferson ended up a good deal behind Fort Jennings on Tuesday and lost 66-48. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while the Musketeers are ranked 219th).

Jefferson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Lincolnview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Lincolnview couldn't quite finish off Jefferson when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 46-43. Can Lincolnview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
