Volleyball Recap: East Liverpool Starts off Right with Win over Salem

East Liverpool had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Salem Quakers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Potters in their matchups with the Quakers: they've now won six in a row.

East Liverpool walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-19, 25-17.

East Liverpool can attribute much of their success to Ayla Riggle, who had 12 digs and four assists. Riggle has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.

East Liverpool was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Liverpool will welcome Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Salem, they will host Ursuline at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
