Baseball Recap: Mercer Island Find Success

Mercer Island's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They skirted past the Redmond Mustangs 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Islanders in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

Mercer Island got a great performance from Chase Koehler as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Koehler a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Mercer Island saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Williamson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Mercer Island's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Redmond, they moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
