Kevin Olsen, the nation's top uncommitted quarterback, committed to Miami this morning.
Olsen, the nation's
No. 36 overall recruit, picked Miami over South Carolina, Auburn, Wisconsin and South Carolina.
He confirmed the commitment via Twitter.
"I have decided to take my talents to south beach and be a cane! One of the most exciting days of my life! #THE U #U FAMILY," he tweeted.
Miami had long been considered the favorite to land Olsen, whose brother Greg played there in the mid-2000s.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Olsen threw for 1,686 yards and 20 touchdowns in leading
Wayne Hills (Wayne, N.J.) to a section title last season.
With Olsen's commitment, the run of top quarterbacks making verbal pledges continues. Earlier this week, fellow Top 100 signal callers
Cody Thomas and
Cooper Bateman made commitments to Oklahoma and Alabama, respectively.
