Softball Game Preview: Millington Central Trojans vs. Munford Cougars

Millington Central is 1-9 against Munford since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trojans will face off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Millington Central has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Millington Central managed to slip by Arlington the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans came up short against the Tigers on Friday, falling 14-8.

Hayley Stevens made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Jade Fowler was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Munford came up short against Dyersburg on Monday and fell 5-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gabby Asbill was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Millington Central now has a losing record of 10-11-1. As for Munford, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-1.

Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Millington Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Munford struggles in that department as they've averaged .312. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
