Baseball Game Preview: Holgate Tigers vs. Paulding Panthers

The Holgate Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Paulding Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Holgate nor Paulding posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Monday just wasn't the day for Holgate's offense. They fell just short of Kalida by a score of 2-0 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Holgate saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Medina, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Paulding lost 9-1 to Defiance on Friday.

Holgate's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Paulding, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Holgate couldn't quite get it done against Paulding in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
