Softball Game Preview: Buffalo Gap Bison vs. Riverheads Gladiators

The Buffalo Gap Bison are taking a road trip to take on the Riverheads Gladiators at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Buffalo Gap proved they can win big on May 8th (they won by 11) and on May 9th they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wilson Memorial, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bison have posted since April 15th.

Meanwhile, Riverheads got the win against Waynesboro on Friday by a conclusive 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Gladiators, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Buffalo Gap has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Riverheads, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Buffalo Gap beat Riverheads 11-7 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
