Softball Recap: Wheeling Park Takes a Loss

Wheeling Park came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Sissonville Indians by a score of 6-4 on Friday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wheeling Park got a good showing from Harmony Bittner, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Abby O'Donnell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Brenna Tipton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Wheeling Park's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Sissonville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Coincidentally, Wheeling Park and Sissonville will both be playing Frankfort the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Indians will host them at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
