Baseball Game Preview: Highland Park Scots vs. Lone Star Rangers

The Highland Park Scots will take on the Lone Star Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland Park's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Lone Star's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Highland Park's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Creekview. The Scots haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Lone Star had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 10-0 win.

Will Moore looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Lone Star saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Aguilar, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Aguilar a new career-high.

Lone Star kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Highland Park pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lone Star, their victory bumped their record up to 11-18.
