Baseball Recap: Galena Takes a Loss

If Galena was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Wheaton two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell 9-4 to the Blue Eye Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Wyatt Doak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Andru Foster, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Galena's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Blue Eye, the win got them back to even at 1-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galena will host Hurley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up.
