Recap: Adams City Eagles vs. Lakewood Tigers
The Adams City Eagles struggled with assists on Thursday (the Lakewood Tigers had 2100% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Adams City took a serious blow against Lakewood, falling 72-26. Adams City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Adams City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Williams, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Williams scored a full 42.3% of Adams City's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ivonne Castaneda, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Lakewood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dyani Parrish out in front who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Perea, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Adams City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lakewood, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Adams City will square off against Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. Lakewood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Prairie View at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st.
