Recap: Whitman Vikings vs. Richard Montgomery Rockets

The Whitman Vikings had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Richard Montgomery 74-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Whitman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Brown out in front who scored 27 points. Brown continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Farrell, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Whitman's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Richard Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Whitman and the Coyotes will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Clarksburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Vikings are ranked 52nd). As for Richard Montgomery, they will take on the Warriors at TBD on Friday. Sherwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 277 points over their last four matches.
