Basketball Recap: James River Comes Up Short

James River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Glenvar Highlanders and fell 63-35. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Highlanders are ranked 83rd).

James River's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Glenvar, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6.

Coming up, James River will challenge Alleghany at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glenvar, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Glenvar's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
