Softball Game Preview: Arcola Purple Riders vs. Salt Fork Storm

The Arcola Purple Riders will square off against the Salt Fork Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Arcola has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Arcola's offense. They lost 11-0 to Warrensburg-Latham on Monday.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Salt Fork's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Watseka by a score of 7-6.

Salt Fork's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for Arcola, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Arcola came out on top in a nail-biter against Salt Fork in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Purple Riders repeat their success, or do the Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
