Baseball Game Preview: Hickory Hornets vs. Grove City Eagles

The Hickory Hornets will take on the Grove City Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Hickory and seven for Grove City.

Friday just wasn't the day for Hickory's offense. They lost 10-0 to Karns City on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since May 15, 2024.

Hickory saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Grove City came up short against Oil City on Friday and fell 4-1.

Grove City's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Hickory, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Everything went Hickory's way against Grove City when the teams last played on April 3rd, as Hickory made off with a 9-2 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
