Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hough

Hough waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Myers Park Mustangs by a score of 3-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-1 victory last Tuesday.

The victory didn't come easy: Myers Park scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-23.

Myers Park's loss came despite strong showings from Lizzie Crawford and Barrett Lacouture. Crawford had 17 digs and two assists, while Lacouture had 13 assists and ten digs. Lacouture is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Harper Francis also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Hough's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Myers Park, they dropped their record down to 14-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hough will host South Mecklenburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Myers Park, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Pinecrest at 7:00 p.m.
