Baseball Recap: Weldon Valley Takes a Loss

Weldon Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-5 to the Peetz Bulldogs. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 26-4 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Whitney Mcfarland and Jon Smith did some serious damage despite the final result: Mcfarland got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, while Smith got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Smith a new career-high. Joseph Shaver was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Weldon Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Weldon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Peetz, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Peetz beat Weldon Valley by a score of 10-0 later that day.
