Basketball Recap: Montbello Piles Up the Points Against Hinkley

Montbello won the last time they faced Hinkley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Montbello Warriors took their matchup with ease, bagging a 46-14 victory over the Hinkley Thunder. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Warriors had established a 23 point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montbello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Juanita Dixon, who went 6 for 10 to rack up 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Dixon a new career-high in shooting accuracy (60%). Brittany Saldivar was another key player, putting up ten points.

Montbello's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Hinkley, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Montbello has already played their next contest, a 0-0 loss against Denver North on the 6th. As for Hinkley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against George Washington on the 7th.
