Licking Valley put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Watkins Memorial Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 back in April.

Licking Valley got a massive performance out of Madison Evans, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Alexa Gilliam was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Licking Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Licking Valley's record is now 20-0. As for Watkins Memorial, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Licking Valley and Watkins Memorial should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Danville at 5:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (7 vs. 85). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Licking Valley 1.6, the Blue Devils 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Watkins Memorial (ranked 40th) will meet Licking Heights (ranked 158th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
