Basketball Recap: Aztec Comes Up Short

Aztec was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Gallup Bengals and fell 60-22. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jazzlyn Gomez was Aztec's leading scorer, having posted eight points.

Aztec's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Gallup, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Aztec has already played their next contest, a 49-41 defeat against Bloomfield on the 25th. As for Gallup, they will challenge Shiprock at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gallup knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Shiprock likes a good challenge.
