Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lincoln

It's playoff time, and Lincoln had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Lowell Cardinals by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Branson Derrington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lincoln is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 12-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Lincoln saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Castaneda, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another was Jeremiah Arriola, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Lincoln now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Lowell, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-9.

As of now, neither Lincoln nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
