Needles waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Williams Vikings get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Vikings back in March, they had to take a 10-6 loss.

Not much got past Holden Jones, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Williams off the board. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Wilson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Needles: the team is 12-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gabe Rodriquez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Needles' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Williams, they moved to 15-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Needles does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williams, they will challenge Ray at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
