Basketball Recap: Independence Takes Down East Canton in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Independence had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 47-31 win over the East Canton Hornets on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Independence pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points over those games. As for East Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Coming up, Independence will face off against Smithville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Smithville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Independence surely won't give up without a fight. East Canton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
