Softball Recap: Reedsburg Beats Deforest for Their Fifth Straight Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Reedsburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the DeForest Norskies 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Beavers, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Cheyenne Raupp spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit.

At the plate, Kylee Molitor was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 13 contests. Abbie Scott also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Reedsburg's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for DeForest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

Reedsburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Waunakee on the 17th. As for DeForest, they will face off against Janesville Craig at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
