Basketball Recap: Lanier's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Lanier had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 71-58 win over the Chattahoochee Cougars on Tuesday. The Longhorns pushed the score to 57-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Lanier's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Chattahoochee, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Lanier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chattahoochee, they will take on Johns Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Johns Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Chattahoochee likes a good challenge.
