Baseball Game Preview: Smith-Cotton Tigers vs. Hickman Kewpies

For the second straight game, Smith-Cotton will face off against Hickman. The Tigers will face off against the Kewpies at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Smith-Cotton will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Smith-Cotton will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Hickman, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers put the hurt on the Kewpies with a sharp 14-6 victory on Tuesday.

Smith-Cotton got a great performance from Jayden Archibeque as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Archibeque has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Karson Wiskur was a standout: he scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Wiskur, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Smith-Cotton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive games.

Smith-Cotton's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6.
