Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Allie Freedman and Grace Motroni Lead Covenant Christian Academy to Victory

Covenant Christian Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Boston Trinity Academy Lions. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Lions back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Covenant Christian Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-10.

Covenant Christian Academy was led to victory by Grace Motroni and Allie Freedman. Motroni had eight digs and four aces, while Freedman had seven digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Freedman a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Covenant Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 33 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Covenant Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Boston Trinity Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Covenant Christian Academy will welcome Gann Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boston Trinity Academy, they will take on Bancroft at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
