Basketball Game Preview: Boaz Pirates vs. Southside Panthers

The Boaz Pirates just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Southside Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Boaz will head out to face Southside after giving up their first home loss of the season on Monday. Boaz was outmatched by Albertville and fell 70-34. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Aggies are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 70-46 to Gadsden City. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since November 19th.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Boaz, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-8.

Boaz came out on top in a nail-biter against Southside when the teams last played back in January of 2021, sneaking past 60-57. Will Boaz repeat their success, or does Southside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
