Basketball Recap: Capitol Takes a Loss

Capitol was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 55-10 defeat at the hands of the Istrouma Indians. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Indians are ranked 179th).

Eryn Brown was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a triple-double on 40 points, ten boards, and ten steals for Istrouma. Brown's evening made it 21 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ayana Johnson was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Capitol's loss dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Istrouma, their victory bumped their record up to 19-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capitol has already played their next match (against Covington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Istrouma has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Belaire.
