Soccer Recap: Gilbert Beats Brookland-Cayce for Their Third Straight Victory

Gilbert proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by four) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats 2-1. Gilbert's winning goal came courtesy of Olivia Pitillo.

The win (which was Gilbert's third in a row) raised their record to 10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matches. As for Brookland-Cayce, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Gilbert will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Gray Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will face off against Airport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookland-Cayce are facing Airport at the right time seeing as Airport are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
