Preview: Jefferson J-Hawks vs. Hononegah Indians

Jefferson is 0-10 against Hononegah since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Jefferson J-Hawks will be playing at home against the Hononegah Indians at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Jefferson didn't have too much trouble with Woodstock at home as they won 54-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jefferson.

Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariah Williams, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Williams scored 15 or more points. Abbie Bracius was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Meanwhile, Hononegah can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 70-20 win over Belvidere North. Given Hononegah's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Belvidere North is ranked 489th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jefferson pushed their record up to 12-16 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Hononegah, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Jefferson took a serious blow against Hononegah in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-30. Will Jefferson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
