Basketball Recap: Charlotte Takes a Loss

Charlotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Westminster Academy Lions and fell 75-36. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Tarpons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Lions are ranked 14th).

Charlotte lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Adrienne Harris, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Harris has posted since back in February of 2024. Dakota Galley was another key player, putting up six points.

Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Westminster Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-42 win against Lake Howell on the 30th. As for Westminster Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-40 defeat against New Smyrna Beach on the 30th.
